QR Code Scanner

Scan a QR code from an image, a screenshot, or your camera. Nothing is uploaded.

How the QR code scanner works

Drop in a photo or screenshot that contains a QR code, paste one with Ctrl+V (⌘V on Mac), or turn on your camera and hold the code in view. The code is decoded in your browser — using the browser's built-in barcode reader where available — and the result appears straight away.

Links are shown in full before you open them, so you can check where they lead. WiFi codes are broken down into the network name and password so you can join manually.

Frequently asked questions

Is it safe to open links from QR codes?
Only open links you expected and trust. The scanner shows the full address first — check the domain, and be wary of codes on stickers placed over signs or parking meters.
Why can't it find the QR code in my picture?
Try a sharper, closer, or better-lit photo with the whole code visible, including the white border around it. Very small or blurry codes are hard to read.
Does the camera video get uploaded?
No. Frames are read on your device and nothing is recorded or sent anywhere. The camera turns off as soon as a code is found or you press Stop.
Can I scan a QR code on my own screen?
Yes — take a screenshot and paste it here with Ctrl+V, or drop the screenshot file in.
